4D continues to NOT QUITE truly and fully support its object notation, and the inability to get a pointer to an object attribute continues to confound.
The latest issue involves an attempt to use REDRAW( ) to redraw a subform that is named, but whose ‘variable or expression’ as an OBJECT (not a variable). Because REDRAW( ) does not support a common 4D command structure: i.e. REDRAW ( * ; ObjectName ) in addition to REDRAW ( Variable ), then it is impossible to use REDRAW on a subform that uses an OBJECT. Does anyone have a method of getting a subform REDRAW accomplished, when its ‘variable’ is an OBJECT?
