I ignore anything in the settings directory, but you could argue against that. 
For example, you might want to track changes in your build settings file.

You can't ignore catalog.4DCatalog if you want to track table and field changes 
to your structure. 

I'm currently exporting structure changes in 4D 17 to a 4D 18 project mode 
branch in catalog.4DCatalog. One frustration is that just opening in 4D 18 
project mode shows changes in catalog.4DCatalog without doing anything. I 
reported this as a bug, but it is apparently not reproducible by anyone else.
