If Synaptic won't work try the following:

- Settings >> Repositories, I think there is the DVD and it is enabled,
if not you have to add it, resp. to enable it.
I don't know how the DVD has to be booked, because I removed it from the
list. There is a New button, for more information you might asked
Google, but I believe you only has to do the next step:
- If the CD is enabled, you have to go to Edit >> Reload Package
Information, you also can use the button Reload, I guess you have
forgotten to do the reload.

If you know all this and it won't work, it might be helpful to know the
messages you get ;).
