Hi 64 Studio list :)

someone from the Ardour-Users list needs braille to install 64 Studio.
Any ideas?

Hi Christian :)

I reply Bcc of-ardour-list, while I do a request to the 64 Studio users
list.

64 Studio 2.1 is a Debian Etch, a real Debian optimized for audio use.
You can google for Debian Etch solutions if there will be no information
for 64 Studio. But you also can use your knowledge about Ubuntu, Hardy
might be more actual as 64 Studio 2.1, so not everything will be the
same, but you won't have the troubles with audio you got with Ubuntu.

This seem not to be very helpful:
http://osdir.com/ml/linux.debian.devel.accessibility/2003-11/msg00013.html

But there seems to be a way to install with BRLTTY support.

Strange that there is the need to see, to do audio work.

By the way, the mother of a friend is visually impaired too. Because of
some reasons she needs to live in an asylum for the blind. The friend
was looking for a good place, so one of the questions he was asking,
when he tried to find out what might be the best place for his mother
was, if there will be animals, because his mother like dogs. One asylum
for the blind had a fish tank. Watching, hearing and peting fishes might
be not very satisfying for most visually impaired people. At the end,
his mother found a place with animals that aren't swimming in the water.

I guess there will be a Linux solution for you.

There might be one strange thing, maybe you need a graphic card, to have
a stable audio Linux, even if you won't use a monitor or display, but
Linux should be a good choice for you, because of the bash commands and
short cuts.

I hope the 64 Studio users, you and I can find some applications that
will fit to your needs.

Cheers,
Ralf
