Hi :)

this might be OT for a multimedia distro's mailing list, but I have
troubles with my provider. I can't write to sourceforge.net mailing
lists and I can't receive some .tar.gz attachments, seen it from this
side my request shouldn't be OT.

Does anybody know a serious German provider, that is working seriously
in the area of the Ruhrgebiet? The quality of some providers seems to
differ for different regions.

Hi Daniel :)

When I googled, before I wrote to the list, I found this link too,
that's why I suspect the Microsoft mail servers too, but in the headers
of the mails I'm receiving, there only is to see, that the servers of my
provider are from Microsoft, there are no entries of any AV software.

I once had a dispute with my provider because they enabled a junk mail
detection for my account, without my permission. I received each day
mails that offers me to enlarge body parts, designer handbags and blue
pills, while mails from friends and mailing lists couldn't be fetched by
my Linux. One day I visited the providers "Microsoft Outlook Web
Access", "Exchange" and found some of the missed mails in a folder
called "Junk-E-Mail".

Chinese HTML-bullshit with contents about how to become a sex machine
could reach me, while plain text only messages from the UK, with
contents about Linux where in quarantine, without my knowledge and even
though I disabled this function before. Alice enabled it again without
asking me.

This feature is disabled at the moment.

The fact that I'm not able to write to sourceforge.net mailing lists,
because Alice won't set up a postmaster account and that I can't write
to TERRATEC, where my sound card is from, because Alice is
UCEPROTECT-Level3 listed, is a thorn in my side.

I just want to feel certain, that there isn't a "protection" done by
Icedove, because I never get this censoring when I used Thunderbird and
other mail clients.

I guess it's done by my provider and I should change the provider again.

Cheers,
Ralf
