for some Gigs you need self compiled kernels ;). I guess 4 Gig will be
very good and maybe 8 Gigs also are fine, but you can reach a border
where it becomes stupid, than you maybe better won't have more, but
better RAM, that is error correction code compatible. I'm not sure what
is possible, if you compile a kernel with special options, but I guess
it's 64 Gigs. What will you do with 64 Gigs of RAM in an audio studio
today? Doing the production in the RAM only? Be careful, I just had a
phone call with a friend, even if your computer has 2 power supplies
and  is connected to emergency power, you better will have some data on
your HD, because it's more safe. He knows a server where both power
supplies failed.
