64studio 2.1 uses gnome 2.14 from debian etch, 64studio 3.0 uses 2.22
from ubuntu hardy heron.

yes, it is.

yes for 64studio 3.0, no for 2.1.

jackd is installed by default but not started by default.

alsa is is installed anyway. I never used pulseaudio though, but there
are packages provided.
using them simultaneously might cause troubles.

No. (correct me if i`m wrong) - There have been requests to include it
in the future.
It installs fine from source.
