Hi :) oops, I wrote a novel.
I'll tidy up my hard disks, not by one pass, but step by step when I
have nothing else to do. I'm thinking of using one Linux as my main
OS and because of my hardware, I still need to use XP Pro too and
I'm thinking to check Vista black edition 32bit.
Because of the Linux for mailing, web browser, GIMP, video edit, web
design etc. I would like to know something about 64 Studio 2.1 and
3.0-beta3.
I still have two stable 64 Studio 2.1 installs one amd64 and one
486, but most of the time I'm running a broken 64 Studio 2.1 amd64
upgraded to Lenny.
I need a KDE ex version 3.5.9, I'm running KDE 3.5.9 for my 64
Studio amd64 Lenny, but as I've written, my Lenny isn't stable.
Maybe in the meantime the 2.1 testing repository enables a stable
Lenny, when I upgraded to Lenny this repository was based on Etch.
I'm also running Suse 11.0 and 11.1 x86_64 and for Suse it's
possible to install 32bit applications like the proprietary
LightScribe driver, but it's not possible to install it to the
stable 64 Studio 2.1 amd64. Is there a way to enable this? If not,
it might be better to run the 64 Studio 2.1 486.
With Suse I also run KDE 4.x, I don't need it, anyhow it's nice to
run KDE 4.x, but maybe I should use 64 Studio 3.0-beta3 instead of
2.1, if I like latest software. Is 3.0-beta3 stable for mailing, web
browser, GIMP, video edit, web design and an office suite? Because
of my hardware it's not so important, if music applications are
stable at the moment.
What I will do is to install one 64 Studio, or to upgrade one of my
stable 2.1 installs to enable a KDE ex 3.5.9. Which version of 64
Studio might be the best choice for me? I only will keep one 64
Studio install and remove the others. If possible I'll remove my
Suse installs too, but this depends to the way 64 Studio will be
upgraded in the future. For Suse there are a lot of new audio
applications in the repositories, e.g. Rakarrack is available by the
Suse repositories since a long time and just for playing guitar it's
even fine with my hardware. DVDRAM and Cinelerra (from a repository
without any manual work) are fine for my Suse installs, but I wasn't
able to get them work by howtos for 64 Studio and Debian.
My most used Linux at the moment is 64 Studio 2.1 amd64 upgraded to
Lenny, most applications I need are stable, even if it's broken, I
only use 64 Studio 2.1 amd64 default stable too, because I sometimes
like a different design and when I tested a lot of Linux, because of
my hardware troubles, I didn't edited different designs just for one
Linux install. I seldom boot the Suse installs and 64 Studio 2.1 486.
For proprietary stuff like LightScribe, I can use my Windows
install, especially LightScribe is better supported for Windows.
The question seems to be, if I should upgrade a the stable 2.1 amd64
or if I should install the 3.0-beta3 amd64 and not if I should
prefer the 486 versions, but that could change if Linux for audio
becomes fine with my hardware and I wish to remove Windows.
Another question that's OT: 4 Times I generated a new OpenPGP key pair,
just because I wished to change the comment, because of my broken
English. Now I reached an American pen pal, I asked him how to write the
comment in correct English. If possible I'll only change the comment of
my key and not generate a new key pair, because in the meantime I used
this key and I hopefully will use this key pair without the need to
revoke it for the next years.
I didn't found a way to change the comment until now. Does anybody know
how to do this?
Sorry, I guess it would be possible to ask the same with shorter
sentences :S.
Cheers,
Ralf

My public OpenPGP key has changed and the new public key with photo ID,
should be available by key servers. Alice, the ISP that takes my money,
detains me to add the public key by email, because these mails fail to
pass censorship. I guess they will scan emails sent by me and classify
them as junk, without permission to do this.
I sent emails

and those emails were wiped out by Alice.
