Aha, thank you :) based on 'update-rc.d --help' and in ignorance of 'man update-rc.d' it might be good to copy the file with the basename, because I guess it can become complicated to trace back the file if needed. It looks like 'mv' away ntp is fine, but I can imagine that 'update-rc.d' will be more safe, e.g. if some settings from various scripts might be adjusted, something that might be possible ... I don't know. If I run into trouble I'll copy back the 'mv'ed ntp and run 'update-rc.d'.
