Hi Mitsch :) I didn't run Ardour and I'm only using one monitor with 64 Studio 3.0-beta3, so my mail is OT. I only will recommend, that if you will finish a production with 3.0-beta and you need something similar to a dual-head setup, you might be fine with KDE and several desktops that can be changed, just by pulling the mouse cursor over the edge of the screen. I'm suggesting KDE, because it has more possibilities to be set up, than GNOME seems to have. I've got troubles with my graphics and 3.0-beta3, that only appears when I'm running 3.0-beta3, but these troubles are complete different to yours. I've got trouble with X, while you seems to have trouble with the WM, DE or Ardour.
