Ahaa, that's it then, I have 0.109.2-1ubuntu1 (hardy)

I just recorded some acoustic guitar with that disaster, no xruns. 
Monitored some 20 other tracks + effects at the same time, latency 5.33ms.

But I have no doubt that >= 0.116 version is better.

However, I do not find other versions available (ctrl+E in Synaptic). I 
have 64studio Hardy backport repo enabled.
