Hi Rui :) in addition to http://lists.64studio.com/pipermail/64studio-users/2009-June/003098.html a sample of what is unsatisfying for me.
This is 96KHz/24Bit: http://www.teklibre.com/~spinymouse/00-25_Qtractor_test.qtr---00_15.jam---jackd-p1024.flac If the bass should overcast everything it's because I don't had a reference for the monitoring and a broken amp, but not because of troubles with Linux sound quality. If there should be something wrong with this bass on your equipment, than try to ignore this, if possible. What I conceive as trouble with the sound quality is missing fullness in the middle. This is a very raw mix and by the way, timing problems for this song are only caused by drag'n'drop copying, there seems to be an unusual behaviour when doing this with Qtractor and I didn't correct it until now. When moving groups of clips, where some clips are starting at triplets off-beat, they some times are quantised to the grid and don't keep the relative distance to the rest of the clips. Don't judge the stupid unfinished composition or the raw mixing, just try to take care about the fullness. It should sound like 80ies music, e.g. like Material and Bill Laswell (e.g. like 'Worksong' from Bill Laswell, today available on the CD 'Deconstruction', I guess his 80ies music done with Herbie Hancock is mixed similar and better known). If the bass is stressing your speakers please try headphones or ask me to do a new mastering with a sharp cut at 80Hz for the bass soundfont only. Cheers, Ralf -- http://www.dailywav.com/1002/beginning.wav _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
