While Brian Setzer's masterings are very modern, the original old school Rock'n'Swing music is mastered different to his sound. Mastering is a matter of taste and that's why I guess my objection was/is improper, but on the other hand, I'm with conviction, that just reading a/one book isn't a good idea too. Please ignore my annotations. Mastering is similar to different world views, a very complex issue.
I'll correct my first note. Reading Katz's book might be a very good idea and in addition alternative mastering techniques should be recognized too. To do the mastering is the hell of musical "conservation", it's always bad from the view of the engineer who did the mastering, even if listeners won't notice any bad quality. _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
