Hi List, Rui, Chris and William :)

@ *Rui and especially the 64 Studio coders*, the QjackCtl package for
Hardy fails, because of missing dependencies that are not served by
"standard" repositories for Hardy. I had to remove this broken version
and run into trouble, now every time I install a package, the package
64studio alerts because of an error, while the package 64studio itself
isn't reinstalled all the time. I always need to restore at least two
files from a backup :((((((((((.

The last thing because of this I did was removing the 64studio package
and now there isn't the nice gnome logo, but the Ubuntu logo for the
main menu and generally I like to have the 64studio package installed,
because of upgrades.

Restoring the complete 64 Studio from the backup won't be pleasant,
because in the meantime I changed a lot. I know every step I did, I did
note every step, but I don't understand what's wrong with/ for the
64studio package.

For now I'll restore /etc/modprobe.d/hda-intel and
/etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom a second time from the backup. This might or
might not be the only files that were changed by the 64studio package.
Unfortunately I'm not able just to extract those two files only by
command line [6] but they are in the archive [2]. I'll delay the restore
to a later time. maybe someone knows what to do, to get the 64studio
package without an error, maybe by doing a restore for the files of this
package only from a backup.

@ *Chris*, installing Rubber Band 1.4 failed, because there's no
src/vamp/vamp-rubberband.cat. Vamp dependencies seems to be installed
and I was able to compile and install 1.3.

@ *William*, wow, seems to be a good synth, installing it and launching
it by /usr/local/bin/phasex is fine, but there's a big problem with the
GUI. I'm not able to reach all functions, because it doesn't fit to a
window at a monitor resolution of 1024x768.

Cheers,
Ralf

Unfortunately there are some dependencies that aren't available by Hardy
"standard" repositories. Because of this a warning to 64 Studio
3.0-beta3 users who don't want to compile those dependencies, because
this might become an endless chain of dependencies [1].

After installing latest qjackctl it will be broken, you need to remove
the broken qjackctl package and by doing this the 64studio package needs
to be removed too. There might be a function to ignore the dependency
and to keep 64studio. When installing qjackctl and 64studio, 64studio
returns "E: 64studio: subprocess post-installation script returned error
exit status 1". Even if installing of the 64studio package should be
fine, take care of it's included files, maybe you edited one of the
scripts manually. For me at least the GDM theme changed in spite of the
error.
Btw. because of my mistake I noticed a harmless mistake in the list of
installed files for the 64studio package, there's no file named
"/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base-blacklist" in the 64 Studio installation [2].
I don't know how exactly the 64studio package works, but because of the
package's file list and some diff I did, I guess it only will run once,
when it is installed [2]

I tried to install it, but checkinstall and make install failed with the
same error [3]. Fortunately I still have a package for version 1.3-1 to
replace the broken 1.4 installation:

I like the Juno-106, it's one of my favourite synth, unfortunately I
don't have a Juno-106. 1 oscillator produce a sound, even without the
odd 180° phased stereo chorus, that many other synth can't reach with 2
oscillators. I also would pay $60, but anyway it isn't a nice price.

Yesterday's running gag, installing the amd64 package after transforming
it by Alien failed [4]. But today it's fine [5]. Anyway, I do agree with
this:

In addition the window for 1024x768 isn't able to display everything :(.
Phasex runs, I played it by MIDI and changed some filter settings, but I
can't use it, because there isn't everything in the window.
