What is good about routing changing to a less optimal path? trace #1 shows a direct Abilene<->WIDE peering, where trace #2 shows a detour via ES.net. The hop #15 in trace #1 is just the peering LAN of LAAP (which is still in 6bone space, they don't get it that they should have renumbered long ago). So in this example, routing got worse, and I seriously doubt it is because the LAAP was running on 6bone IP address space.
