FYI: Summary of 6lo Applicability document discussion. [ Please see below
forwarded message]
================================================

Thanks to Yong-Geun all the WG attendees who were present in the meeting and
contributed to the very productive discussion.

There was a rough consensus among the attendees at May 19th meeting on the new
name of the document aligning with its purpose:

“IPv6 over Constrained Node Networks(6lo) Applicability & Use cases”

A new revision of the draft will be expected before IETF96.

Thanks,
-Samita

Thank you Younhwan for taking the notes.

====

As for the summary to WG we can do the following based on the meetings and
discussion:

Attendees: Samita, Yong-Guen, Thomas, Gomez, Younghwan, rashid, Xavier, Daniel

- Yong-Guen's presented an overview, history and quick intro to the I-D,
draft-hong-6lo-use-case.
Young-Geun requested to get the following questions to be resolved:
. what is the main purpose?
           . title changes to what?
. additional sections and parts in doc.

· Need to decide on the new title of the draft reflecting purpose and
content – Young-Geun to discuss and decide in a group of interested 6lo
participants

· Should we describe deployment in this document?

o Concern over distinguishing itself from existing 6lowpan Usecase RFC

o Some folks see value in describing current deployment with figures (Carles,
Samita, and previously M. Richardson)

o Young-Geun to seek contribution on 6lo deployment high-level diagram,
scale, Applications and L2 technolgies

o Possible deployment examples: Smart Grid activity in WiSun? 6Tisch area?

o However the document’s main focus is on per-L2 technology usage, adaptation
parameters

· Clarification of the purpose of the document

o Informational RFC

o Targeting IETF internal WGs and members as well as external SDO
contemplating a L3 solution for their respective L2 constrained node networks

· Should the document include LPWAN as a usecase? [ IETF95 comments
from Sandra ]

o 6lowpan can be used definitely on LPWAN with some modification but the
consensus in the team is to wait until LPWAN BOF next time

o Wait until later revision of the document

· What about Security requirement of the usecase scenarios?

o Should this be considered for each usecase or in general ?

o Young-Geun has taken this as an AI

Please check and let me know if any summary point is missing. After that I can
post the summary in the mailing list.
Thanks,
-Samita
