Mark,

There are two issues that I would like to see clarified. They are both
related to connecting 6lowpan networks with backbone IPv6 networks
better than we can do it now. In my opinion this is the "killer" feature
of 6lowpan. Including these in some future re-charter would be too late.

1. In my opinion the interconnection of 6lowpan and backbone networks
using ND techniques along with whiteboarding are important and worth
including into the standard track. “6lowpan Bootstrapping and 6lowpan
IPv6 ND Optimizations” should include definition of how to do proxy-ND
over BbRs? In other words to include some of the ideas from
draft-thubert-6lowpan-backbone-router. I would like to propose expanding
the text of that section to:

... will define how to bootstrap a 6lowpan network and explore
ND optimizations such as reusing the 802.15.4 network structure (use
the coordinators), the use of backbone routers, and obviate multicast by
having devices talk to coordinators without creating a single
point-of-failure, and changing the IPv6 ND multicast semantics.

2. I would also like to see further improvements to RFC4944, namely
draft-hui-6lowpan-hc as a start. I don't see a place for this at all in
the current charter. It can surely be done in a way sufficiently
backward compatible with the current RFC. Shall a separate WG item exist
for this?

Otherwise the charter has my full support.
