This is to inform you that the revision to the IEEE 802.15.4 standard has been
approved. Henceforth, until future amendments are approved, referral to
802.15.4 will indicate IEEE Std. 802.15.4-2015. Until the IEEE SA publishes
this revised standard, the draft can be purchased from IEEE SA via the URL
http://www.techstreet.com/ieee/products/1894072
<http://www.techstreet.com/ieee/products/1894072>. I anticipate that the
published version will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2016.
Upon six months after the published standard has been available, the standard
will move over to the GET802 program (http://standards.ieee.org/about/get/
<http://standards.ieee.org/about/get/>) where it can be downloaded at no cost.

Networks (WPANs)

Dear Patrick,

I am pleased to inform you that P802.15.4 was approved as a revised standard by
the IEEE-SA Standards Board on 5 December 2015. A copy of the document
will be forwarded to the Standards Publications Department. The editor assigned
to work on the project will contact you.

An approved IEEE standard will remain active for ten years. If the Sponsor does
not complete a revision process within ten years, the
standard will be transferred to inactive status.

Sincerely,
