Actually, Knoppix has never been a problem on it, and I've used it lots of times.
I just booted up in Knoppix, and everything has been fine for several hours. I updated my Gentoo post with lsmod and dmesg info from Knoppix: http://tinyurl.com/zsupb What do you mean by "bad switch"? In my make.conf file or something?
