Hi all,

We use iptables to firewall nat our environment then route the users through either our bonded T1's, or two DSL lines (on a round robin assignment). The T1 and DSL modems plug into a 3com 3300 switch and the 3 ports going out on the firewall also plug into this switch. The firewall does the nat translation and decides who goes to which route (DSL/T1).

We want to add in another T1 as well as two more DSL lines. The goal is to have them work exactly the same as the current setup but because we can not expand the hardware far enough to support one RJ45 nic per network line I'm wondering if I can use good old ethernet card aliasing. That is setup an ethX alias (eth0:0, eth0:1) to represent each outgoing network line DSL or T1. This would then feed into the 3com and just go out via the 3 newly added DSL/T1 modems.

Thoughts? Is this feasible or even worth the effort?
