It was a really good meeting. Chris couldn't make it, but there was 4 of us there. Nigel, Trevor, Kevin, and me.
We all took turns getting various features of Kevin's MEPIS distro working on his laptop, trying some DHCP stuff, and once online, we got a Firefox install up, and then showed Kevin how to grab the MEPIS package, rather than the mozilla.org tar version. Since Nigel and Trevor are both Gentoo fans, they had a little debate about how long it takes to bring up a full system on a new install, with Trevor thinking somewhere around 4 hours, and Nigel thinking it was more like 24. I also demonstrated running IE6 on Linux under Wine, but nobody cared (which is a good thing...) :) Also some good discussion about programming environments, and IDE's. I'll make sure there is an announcement posted here when SRCLE announces when their next meeting is. David Roger E. Rustad, Jr. wrote: > Hey David, > > How did the Murrietta nix group go?
