Hello my *nix droogies,

That was very fun last night. We'll have to do that again more often, hopefully in one of the conference rooms at La Sierra University soon.

I was particularly to have finally met Chris Louden. It sounds like he has a cool thing going on down in Temecula area, and I'm guessing that a couple of us will end up trickling down to their club once in a while (last Saturday night of the month, I believe).

For those who weren't there, a large part of our discussion centered around Linux screen readers. A new member, Rusty, is currently looking for an open source replacement for his JAWS program. We picked through some of the technical details for LSR (http://live.gnome.org/LSR) and had Rusty explain various usability issues that pertain to the blind community. Soon (once Rusty gets us a desktop) we'll install it for him and having us tell us how it works for him compared to JAWS.

Have a good one,
Roger
