Saw a story about this on Slashdot... This article (http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=36570) actually just links to this site, which is the entire content: http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~pgut001/pubs/vista_cost.txt
I for one, did not know to the degree of "protection" Vista was claiming to offer. I have numerous audio cards which could be considered "hi-def", with digital outputs going to and from various music instruments and audio devices. If an operating system could choose to just degrade the quality of data being sent over my S/PDIF digital audio path, or turn it off completely, I wouldn't call that an operating system anymore. Is it safe to only call Vista a "Content Delivery System" at this point?
