No problem, I sincerely appreciate your help, Jeff. I was in a crunch today b/c I had only about 30 minutes to deal with a ton of stuff and I was in "cling on to whomever will help me" mode. Normally, I'm not so (for lack of better word) clingy when it comes to solving problems.
Now, what were those firewall progs you mentioned that quickly cranked out the scripts? KISS (for building iptables scripts) and ADF/BSD? Those sound cool -- and addictive!
