Aren't you more of a Network support type then an software engineer? Or is SRE something else?
SRE stands for "site reliability engineer" (I just found out recently), for whatever that's worth. Like I said, one of the questions was on how traceroute and TTL work together, so there obviously is some (or a lot of) networking involved.
