Hi All, I am teaching Blender for FREE this summer at my house in the Fontana area. Please pass this info along to any kids, etc that you think might be interested.
Also, I have started a yahoogroup to do my part to bring together the tech community in Southern California called Tech-HC. I will be posting stuff about robotics, Linux, Smalltalk, BarCampL.A., etc on the list. I would love to have you join and post techy stuff too. Please join at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Tech-HC/ Donna ====================================== Hawthorne Center for Innovation 18211 Hawthorne Ave Bloomington, CA 92316 (Fontana area) 909-350-0311 Introduction to Blender and 3D Modeling FREE Chose from 2 sessions: 6 Wednesday - 1-2:30 PM - starting July 18 or 6 Thursdays - 10-11:30 PM - starting July 19 (if we get enough interest during the summer) Who should attend - appropriate mostly for 5th graders on up. Blender is a professional program for game developers, animators, etc and is not intuitive. It has a definite learning-curve. Patience is needed to work through it but the rewards are great for those who persist. Learn the basics of how to create images with mesh modeling, how to do basic rendering, and lighting, and some basic animation. Blender is a FREE to download, a very powerful, and a very complicated program and we will just be scratching the surface of what can be done with it. Find out more about Blender at www.blender.org What is the Hawthorne Center? The Hawthorne Center is my garage at my house. The Center is interested in getting children exposed to the wonderful world of F/OSS - free, open source software. Eventually we want to start making movies with kids.
