It's a bit more complex than that, Roger. In India $10,000 per year is a good pay for a Systems Administrator (as $10,000 per yer was good pay in the U.S. for comparable work [the specific job title didn't exist yet] in the early to mid 1960s). The people who work for me do not feel exploited in any way. In many cases they've gotten RHCE certifications at their own expense, and are happy to be able to join the world economy. And they're fully capable of writing scripts for us, some of which we've released as open source <smile>. We offer our contractors raises as appropriate and intend to keep them for the long term. We do not hire starting-rate contractors (as so many of the India-based personnel companies who act as middlemen do), and we do not replace them as they get a bit more experienced and also a bit more expensive. If we did we could probably get them at a bit over half that rate. Jeff -- Jeff Lasman, Nobaloney Internet Services P.O.
