plan 9 doesn't support gpt. however, nemo is correct. when gpt partitions are created below the fdisk limit of 2TB, that space is supposed to be shown in partition table. (at www.uefi.org; see ยง5.2.2 of the uefi specification 2.1 on the "protective" mbr.) your claim was that plan 9 lacks something to support streaming. what does support for gpt partition tables have to do with this? - erik
