Making do with what we have, however, I can now successfully conversate with the printer, and initiate the print. But there is a problem: after the first line of output from the printer on the page, usb/print (yes, connected via USB) times out: cp: error writing /dev/lp8: request timed out (command was: gs $GSOPT chess.ps; cp /tmp/gsp /dev/lp8) Suggestions from masters of USB? ak
