there has been an update on usb software recently.
the old kernel driver was called #U, the new one is #u.
Tools like usb/usbd and usb/disk changed as well.

Do you still have the problem?
I'm just reading the mail thread and don't understand why
/srv/usb is not there. It should.

can you ls '#u' ?
Do you have usbd running?
