But I swear there used to be a way to make it work in cooked mode, so that I can edit the command lines before hitting enter. On my Mac's 9term, I can still type echo world and then mouse to the middle, insert "hello", mouse to the end, hit enter, and I get "hello world". But it still doesn't echo passwords. Something changed in Lucid but I have no idea what. Russ
