I'm putting it down to operator error, but I've hosed any number of plan9 QEMU images that talk to a p9p venti running on the linux host that hosts the QEMU images. Never entirely sure why, but what typically happens is that I play with one or two plan9 images for a couple of days, then something else distracts me for a while, then when I go to retry them a few weeks later one or more of them no longer boots and I just get endless streams of errors from fossil complaining that such-and-such a block cannot be found. As far as I know I always shut the QEMU images down "nicely" and the p9p venti is always running.
