I need this all the time because log files are commonly 300+
characters long.

Multiple windows of one instance (note that multiple instances are
possible, but incredibily inconvenient in plan9port).

But really, probably something like org-mode or similar would be
better.

While no solution is perfect, pretty much any popular existing
editor—VS Code, Zed, JetBrains stuff, etc does this better than
acme.
(Also apologies for the double post, it appears that message delivery
on this list is slow, taking more than 10 minute. And this caused
me think my messages were dropped, and I incorrectly assumed that
was because I was using a wrong e-mail address so I tried with
another one. Really, message delivery should be faster.)
