I recommend getting in touch with Chez Scheme folks (Matthew Flatt?) or Gambit folks (Marc Feeley) to see if they are interested in helping or, better, any of their students may be interested in porting!
I had a very rough port of Gambit with Feeley's help but that was a long time ago and all those bits are gone!
