This devroom focuses on the Plan 9 operating system and its ecosystem, including 9legacy, 9front, plan9port, Inferno, and projects applying Plan 9 technologies. Our devroom will be held on Sunday morning, February 1st, 2026. # Important Dates - Submission deadline: December 1, 2025, 23:59 UTC - Schedule announcement: December 15, 2025 - Event date: January 31 - February 1, 2026 # Topics and Scope We welcome presentations on all aspects of Plan 9's ecosystem and related technologies. Proposals should emphasize technical content rather than advocacy. Please clearly state your target audience and assumed knowledge level in your proposal. # Talk Formats - Lightning talks: 5-10 minutes - Standard presentations: 25 minutes (including Q&A) - Extended presentations: 45 minutes (schedule permitting) Live demonstrations using the 9p presentation environment are particularly encouraged. # Submission Process Submit your proposal via Pretalx (https://pretalx.fosdem.org/fosdem-2026/) and select the "Plan 9" track. Include title, abstract, speaker biography, target audience, session type, and contact information. Accepted speakers are expected to be familiar with the 9p protocol. Email [email protected] requesting a user account. You will receive a username, a password, and instructions on how to connect to the 9p public share. By requesting a user account, you confirm your ability to attend FOSDEM 2026 in Brussels and deliver your presentation in person.
