I noticed that and had a similar speculation about earmarking for future use.

This seems inline with my intended use for IoT devices exporting their
namespaces. I'm thinking of using these ports to listen for local
services similar to what I recently mentioned (gyrofs, relayfs, etc.),
and then, use 'import -B' to tie them into the local namespace.
