Greetings, Would I be able to propose another project? I am really interested in radio networking, especially LoRa and LoRaWAN. Specifically, I would like to use Plan 9, Raspberry PIs, and LoRa devices for low-cost emergency communications in very remote areas without reliable cell service. My goal is to create a cheap setup with applications in the emergency medical services where I live (forested mountains with awful cell service, very rural population, and no line of sight). Ideally I want to be able to call an ambulance and provide geolocation data with $50 of electronics without the use of a phone.
I don't follow 9front much, so I'm OK if they don't accept my code. I'm more interested in working from Richard Miller's Plan 9 port for the rpi, that is what I have setup on my rpi zero 2. I am also running 4th edition P9 virtualized with some limited patches from 9legacy. One caveat is I'm not a traditional computer science/engineer student. I'm currently studying medicine. I probably need to demonstrate that my use of Plan 9 has some useful medical application somewhere. (I need a good excuse for spending the summer working on Plan 9 instead of in the bio lab.) -- Aaron Lin [email protected] IRCNow (https://ircnow.org) ------------------------------------------ 9fans: 9fans Permalink: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/T46370b0d2f10b254-M2e3be837d81bdef49e378a84 Delivery options: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/subscription
