Hi ! GSoC was one of the main topic of the last board meeting. We are actively considering what to do precisely, no decision has been made yet.
The process must start with us writing a formal application to the program, as an organization. Only then can we discuss projects and mentors, and application from students. I guess my point is: I don't think finding a mentor will be the hard part. We've noted your enthusiasm, and we will certainly be in touch, or at least post an announcement here as soon as community input becomes relevant. While, again, no decision has been reached yet, and we are not sure to be selected if we even apply, one wish that was expressed by some members is that the grantees stick around as contributors after the program. A past history of useful contribution to any of the Plan 9 related project will therefore probably be a huge green flag when considering applicants.
