I find it difficult to believe that if this was the case, the problem wouldn't have been detected by whoever ported the os to the device. Or another ordinary user later. You'd want to spend at least a little bit of time, probably a lot, checking that everything worked as expected.
I can do this monitoring, but I'll have to figure out how to first.
