I suppose in your second message you might mean 'X' as
in the X Window System, but I don't see why that would
fix anything.  If sam -d doesn't work, running samterm (the
X interface) won't make it start working.

Someone generated for me a whole lot of <foo>.html that contain benchmark results. I don't want to cut-n-paste each of the data points from the HTML pages. The only sane alternative needs REs that cross \n. I.e. sam. Preferably in batch mode, as I have more than a few of these files to deal with. Now that I have fixed my RE and 'x' stupidity, I need to solve interactive mode.
