Or they might just like writing stuff for the compiler, personal entertainment. Or they like seeing their names on gcc.gnu.org projects pages. Or they really think that all this work makes some difference. I don't know anyone who works on the beast, so I've no real clue as to why people continue to spend time on this monster. Let's just move Ken's C compiler everywhere.
