it means that devmnt sent a T116 (Tread) with tag 12 but got back an R119 (Rwrite). it's possible rio is confused. also possible the kernel is confused or that somehow the pipe has gotten screwed up. > this was an error printed on the console after i hit DEL in a window > running a subrio while catting a large file. hitting DEL while catting a large file in noscroll mode (when the cat is waiting for you to hit page down) is a good way to lose the entire window. i have yet to figure out why. i suspect rio is not handling the note exactly right, which might explain the weird Tread/Rwrite too. russ
