Well I wonder what people typically do when they can't malloc anymore memory but need more... A reasonable thing to do is to die I'd think.
a reasonable thing to do is send Rerror and let the client sort it out (usually that means retry at some other time). it has happened here when we run linux systems out of the number of allowed processes :)
