I've just pushed out some new scuzz source and an updated manual page. I've been using this version of scuzz to read 4mm DDS and 8mm Exabyte tapes.
I've been using an original Exabyte 8200 drive and have had much better luck using a Buslogic/Mylex controller than with a NCR/Symbios/LSI one. The NCR reported I/O errors and scuzz quit where the Buslogic just read without error. I/O errors also seemed to try drive the NCR or its driver insane: it would print console messages and corrupt the kernel, so trial-and-error guessing of tape block sizes was tedious.
