I looked at this when I did the drawterm back-end.
The basic structure of the implementations is similar, but there's a
fair bit of tweaking required to move the drawterm back end to P9P.
I hacked at it a bit and ran out of time; there's nothing
sufficiently good in my hacking about that anyone else would want to
play with it - it doesn't even compile, IIRC.
The main difference I think was in the keyboard and queue handling -
drawterm has a nice clean interface there, where p9p's is somewhat
more integrated with the graphics.
