Yes, I understand that MacOSX has root. Say I own a laptop and noone else uses said laptop. Am I going to suid and store all my private files as root or another user? No, most likely not. I'll store all my files as myself because it's convenient. Therefore, someone does not have to compromise root to compromise the entire box, since the assets on the entire box are really limited to my account.
