Although I can't tell you specifically where they came from, I can
tell you to try booting into safe mode and then deleting them.  If
that doesn't work, there's always booting to command prompt.

Thanks for your replies. I did paste the temp file with the name of
the temp file and got a "did not match any documents" response. The
thing that I do notice is that all of these files start with
"df***.tmp". Unfortunately, every time I close and re-open Windows I
get more and more of these files. All other *.tmp files on my pc's are
associated with specific software or recently installed software. That
is why these .tmp files puzzle me. I wonder is there some to discover
their origin? Thanks for all your help.
