Excellent post Janet Mrs Bear tells me that the latest computerised sewing machines are now programmed from a cd offering hundreds of pattern choices at much faster speeds. Trouble is that they cost in the region of �2,500.00, don't know what that is in $.

I saw it done once at a Craft Show where the young woman was making greeting cards with inserted motifs.
