Just casting my net here but I will be visiting my uncle over Christmas and hope to resolve his pc problem. He has a new pc, with Windows XP Home edition and Norton Internet Security. From what I understand he can not send email but he seems to be able to receive email, the XP firewall is disabled and the Norton firewall enabled. He is 81 yo and can not really tell me much more. If the worst comes to the worst I will use System Restore to restore his pc to a date in November, when I last used it and it was performing correctly. So two questions
1. There isn't much information to go on but any ideas as to why he can not send email? 2. If I use System Restore to restore to a date in November 2004, will he lose any MS Word files that he has created since that date and would he lose any modifications/ changes he has made to MS Word files since that date?
