Hi Wendy Did you download, install and run the programs hotrock suggested, ie AdAware and Spybot? Both can be found here:
AdAware www.lavasoftusa.com Spybot http://security.kolla.de/ http://www.tucows.com/preview/310138.html Before running either of them check the respective sites for updates and if there are any available D/L & install them BEFORE running the programs. They should get rid of the Downloadalot home page hijack. Another good program to have installed, which helps to PREVENT spyware being installed is SpywareBlaster, which can be found here ... again, check for updates on a regular basis. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html >>I cannot find it on my computer except for in the Temp files Delete your Temporary internet files Again following on from hotrock's comments, do you have anti virus and firewall programs installed? Finally, you don't say what your Operating System is W98 ME W2000 or XP? If it is XP, perhaps the XP users here can advise if System Restore should be disabled before running AdAware & Spybot in order to completely eradicate Spyware?
